With SnipeIT their accounting department, acquisitions, etc. in which you can kind-of-sort-of track assets, but it isn't primarily designed to do so and you would have to build out assets and fields in Hudu to do it, whereas SnipeIT is designed for this. If it's for accounting purposes, I personally think that an actual asset tracking system like SnipeIT would work better than trying to track everything in Hudu, etc. It might also make a difference why they're wanting to track these things. I rarely put customer assets in my SnipeIT instance - I primarily use it for tracking our own assets, as we provide a lot of equipment as a service. Depending on how your billing model works you might want to charge for a project to do setup and training, or a monthly to help manage it, etc. Given a hosted instance of SnipeIT is so inexpensive, it might make more sense to just recommend that they get their own instance. But, I have not been able to successfully create an account in SnipeIT for a customer to use to "manage their own stuff" without the potential for info leakage from other assets/companies. You can add your clients as companies and create assets which belong to them, or check out your assets to their locations or individuals, etc. But whether or not it does what you need, I'm not sure. Does SnipeIT do anything more than Hudu? Yes, absolutely.
